The above adage sounds true for former national team Sihlangu midfield maestro Mlamuli \u2018Mlaba\u2019 Nkambule, who is set for a return to black and white capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders in the new season. This is according to an impeccable source close to the player, who revealed that the Manzini Wanderers skipper had been approached by his former team, with the aim to lure him back to the \u2018Bull\u2019s kraal. The former Denver Sundowns player left Highlanders at the end of the 2021\/22 season, after both parties failed to reach a contractual agreement. He was snatched by rivals Wanderers, where he immediately made an impact in an unfamiliar position as then Coach Changara Terisayi deployed him as a central defender, where he excelled.\u201cIt is a known fact that Highlanders are after \u2018Mlaba\u2019 as they had already approached him on two occasions,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

The source also said the player, blessed with an educated left foot, was yet to make a decision on his next move as his contract with the maroon and white hub giants expired last month.<\/p>\n

The source revealed that the player would give Wanderers first preference on his valued signature and should they not engage him, he would definitely join a team of his choice. Nkambule, on the other hand, said it was too early to comment on the latest development as he was still waiting for Wanderers management to engage him. \u201cMy comment is very simple, I am still waiting for Wanderers management to decide my future, then I will take the next step thereafter,\u201d Nkambule said.<\/p>\n

No immediate comment could be reached from Wanderers as Public Relations Officer (PRO) Lucky \u2018Majayivane\u2019 Dlamini\u2019s phone rung unanswered by the time this report was compiled.Meanwhile, Highlanders PRO Kenneth Dlamini said such issues were many in this time of the season as sometimes the players were approached by supporters and rush to circulate rumours that we had contacted the player.\u201cThis is novel to me, in fact I have heard even the director mentioning Mlaba as a potential signing,\u201d Dlamini said.<\/p>\n
