{"id":28817,"date":"2023-06-22T18:39:36","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T18:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/eswatini\/?p=28817"},"modified":"2023-06-22T17:00:02","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T17:00:02","slug":"mtn-forks-e110-000-for-youth-with-disabilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/eswatini\/all-news\/mtn-forks-e110-000-for-youth-with-disabilities","title":{"rendered":"MTN FORKS E110 000 FOR YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span><b>MTN Eswatini contributed E110 000 towards the purchase of equipment and material for Ekululameni entrepreneurs.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The 15 beneficiaries are young people with disabilities of visual impairment, physical and epileptic who have undergone training in fields such as soap manufacturing, knitting, sewing, carpentry, piggery and leather work.<\/p>\n<p>The young people who hail from different parts of the country were identified by Junior Achievement as the organisation works with people with disabilities under their all-inclusive training in business skills.<\/p>\n<p>They won cash prizes ranging from E3 000 to E11 500 per person, which will be used to buy the equipment they requested.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Achievement (JA) Executive Director Phetsile Masilela explained that her organisation would purchase the equipment and material as outlined by the entrepreneurs in their business plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will then deliver the items at the individual\u2019s home and further mentor them for a period of six months to make sure they are able to utilise the items and perform according to their business plans,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Masilela said JA would link the young businesspeople with business funders like Fincorp as they may need them for business expansion.<\/p>\n<p>It is during her remarks that she also mentioned that JA offered entrepreneurship modules in Braille for people with visual impairment.<\/p>\n<p>MTN CEO Wandile Mtshali commended the trainees for showing interest in acquiring business skills and venturing into business.<\/p>\n<p>He said MTN was happy to see them through training, start-up and sustaining business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMTN is where it is today because of your support.
