Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>After it was reported that he might face the chop in the national team, Green Mamba midfielder Mxolisi Mkhonto is back in camp.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to sources close to the matter, some officials at Eswatini Football Association (EFA) had mixed feelings about his return. Some wanted him to be allowed back in camp, while others felt he was setting a bad precedent for other players. However, they all resolved that he should be given a last chance to act right. Apparently, EFA was blank on the assessment and some top officials were reportedly livid that the trip was arranged behind their back. The player had left last Wednesday to try his luck with DStv Premiership side Royal AM, where he reportedly impressed. The player is said to have been invited for further assessment after Sihlangu\u2019s Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) games in Durban, South Africa. The tournament will run from next Wednesday until July 16. He will then fly with the team to Tanzania for a pre-season training. Mkhonto joined the national team on Sunday.<\/p>\n

EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said all players were in training. \u201cWhat I can confirm is that all players who were called to join the national team are at camp. I do not want to comment on the player you are asking me about, but I can assure that all players are at camp,\u201d said Radebe.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, FIFA Accredited agent Dingane Maduma said the player has rejoined the Sihlangu. Maduma is the player\u2019s agent. \u201cI can confirm he is back with the national team. We promised EFA that what happened when he left, would never happen again. We will ensure proper communication with all stakeholders,\u201d said Maduma.When asked about how the assessment went, he said.\u201cHe did very well and out of 30 trialists, four foreigners were released. He made it and he shall train with the first team during pre-season after COSAFA,\u201d he said. He also highlighted that he did well in his bib test; his fitness was top and was given a special programme to follow. Sihlangu are hard at training for the upcoming COSAFA Cup which will be held in Durban, South Africa from July 5-16.<\/p>\n
