Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The police launched an intensive search for a three-year-old toddler, who went missing at Mbikwakhe, Matsapha on Tuesday and NDMA supported it with a drone.<\/b><\/p>\n

The search was conducted by a group of about 15 police officers, who were assisted by community members. It started in the morning and ended in the afternoon. When the search started, sniffer dogs were used, but this did not yield any positive results as the area had a huge population, which meant that a lot of people have walked where the child, Amahle Dlamini (3) was playing before she went missing on Tuesday at around 4pm. As they interacted with the community members during the search, the police learnt that some of them suspected other neighbours regarding the disappearance of the child. Therefore, the police called-off the search for some moments and had a caucus.<\/p>\n

After that, they called the community members to a brief meeting and informed them that since the child was young, she could have went into one of the houses or rented flats and the owner might have not noticed her. Therefore, they asked the community members to cooperate with them as they would want to conduct a door-to-door search.<\/p>\n

Assist<\/b><\/p>\n

The members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) asked the community members to go with them into their houses and assist in searching for the missing toddler. The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) personnel came with a drone to assist the police and the community members in the search, especially parts of the area. However, their efforts did not yield the desired result – as they did not locate the child. By end of business yesterday, the affected family said they had not received any positive update regarding their missing child. The search is expected to continue even this morning.<\/p>\n

On the day she went missing, the Amahle was playing (at around 4pm) along a footpath between blocks of rented flats at Mbikwakhe. She was last seen wearing a red sweater with navy blue cartoon embroidery, a flowered dress, green corduroy pants and a pair of blue crocs, which are widely referred to as emabhova. Meanwhile, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati urged emaSwati, in particular guardians of children to check on them now and again to ensure their safety.
