Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Pholile Shakantu has urged Emaswati to not be left out of the voter\u2019s roll validation exercise.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Minister was speaking to the House of Parliament when delivering an updated report on the ongoing national elections, which is being carried out by the Elections and Boundaries Commission under the Ministry.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that we are in this stage validating the voter\u2019s roll, the commission has announced that the process should be complete by 12th of July,\u201d said the Minister.<\/p>\n

\u201cI encourage Emaswati to go to their polling stations where they will find the voter\u2019s roll. This is where they can sit down and verify if they are indeed registered accordingly,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

She also clarified that if there is an issue with a registration, the affected individual should fill out the correction forms which are available at the polling stations. Once the form is filled, it will be taken to the EBC where the registration information will be fixed.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if your name is not on the print out, it does not mean that you are not on the voter\u2019s roll, it may be that there was an error during the printing of the voter\u2019s roll,\u201d added Minister Shakantu.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the voter\u2019s roll validation, the EBC will release an updated voter\u2019s roll, which will inform us on a more final and formal basis as to the registration details of each individual,\u201d said the Minister. She went on to urge members of Parliament to encourage their constituents to participate in the voter\u2019s roll validation exercise.<\/p>\n
