Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>There was deafening silence yesterday when Kwaluseni Member of Parliament (MP) Sibusiso Mabhanisi Dlamini pleaded for protection from the court as he said his life was hanging by the thread.<\/p>\n

Immediately after giving evidence before Judge Mumcy Dlamini in the on-going trial of his colleagues, MPs Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, MP Dlamini asked the court’s indulgence and addressed it on what he termed as a life threatening situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Lady if I may, I am annoyed by what I saw in the media; it was not my wish to come and testify in court but I was summoned. My life is in danger and my family is in hiding,\u201d MP Dlamini said with his voice fading.<\/p>\n

He told the court that his children, relatives and those close to him were living in fear of the unknown and were now in hiding.
\nThe visibly shaken MP told the court that he did not know what would happen to him when he left court as he was now a target, further telling the court that his home was no longer a safe place to be in.<\/p>\n

By this time everyone in the packed Court C had their eyes glued to the shaking Kwaluseni MP who was inside the witness stand.<\/p>\n

After hearing this Judge Dlamini asked from both counsels on what they had to say before issuing an order that the registrar of the High Court should call the national commissioner of police and the director of crime to appear in court to give assurance that MP Dlamini would be given protection.<\/p>\n

Judge Dlamini then told MP Dlamini to remain seated from the bar while his protection was being arranged.
\nSenior police officers were seen closely seated with the MP Dlamini throughout the lunch hour while his protection was being arranged.<\/p>\n
