Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Bongile Mbingo has bounced back as Mayor of the Ezulwini Municipality, which is now known as the \u2018Sandton\u2019 of Eswatini.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is the second term Mbingo serves as the town Mayor. She will be deputised by Comfort Zakhele Hlophe, who was elected as the Vice Chairperson. The Finance Chairperson is Sandile Dlamini and the committee members are Darron Raw and Edmund Mazibuko. Making her remarks after she was elected, Mbingo said Ezulwini had been dubbed the \u2018Sandton\u2019 of Eswatini, which was a mandate they had to uphold as a town that could be reckoned and visited more.<\/p>\n

Tourists<\/b><\/p>\n

In the past, she said the town had been known as a tourists town, before the development of more commercial buildings. Mbingo said there was still a number of hospitality houses and activities that were going on in the town. \u201cIt is our responsibility still, to push our strengths as a town and ensure that with the fast development of the town, there has to be correlation between the development and the infrastructure.\u201d She stated that they believed they would engage actively with the stakeholders and that they were going to ensure that the different stakeholders and the residents of Ezulwini were involved in its development.<\/p>\n

Mbingo added that the town Board had been known for diligence and thrashing out issues to the best of their abilities. She further stated that she had grown in serving in the Board and looked forward to growing even more with different skills. Mbingo said the task they had been given was to deliver service to the people of Ezulwini. She mentioned that with the wards that had been assigned councillors, they believed that they would be visible and be seen in action for the delivery of the needs of the people. \u201cTogether we are a mighty force and we believe that we shall take Ezulwini to even greater heights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mbingo said she was greatly humbled to be chosen again and would not take this for granted. She said she hoped everyone who had been elected into the Board would contribute equally. Mbingo said; \u201cWe thank God that about 80 per cent of the board members had returned and there were two additional members.\u201d<\/p>\n

She stated that they believed that the additional members would add more value with the skills that they were bringing in. Mbingo said they had been working as a team in the past and believed that they would carry on in the same spirit of working diligently. Furthermore, she reminded the councillors that they were still going to refer to the important documents, which included the Standing Orders and Urban Government Act, to prevent them from going astray and working smoothly.<\/p>\n
