Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>THE construction of a E10 million state of art clinic by the South Korean Non-Governmental Organisation has begun.<\/b><\/p>\n

A sod cutting ceremony at Nyonyane, in Ezulwini on Thursday marked the beginning of the project. The leadership of Ezulwini under Umngani Mashampu Sifiso Khumalo allocated two hectors of land for the project. According to South Korean NGO director Daniel Kim, the clinic would have three consultation rooms, an operation theatre, a laboratory and an electrocardiogram (ECG).<\/p>\n

He said the facility would also have an X-ray section, pharmacy as well as a training centre. He said the project would be completed in six months, adding that it would start operating in September if all went according to plan. Kim stated that this project was in honour of her late sister who passed away in 2019. \u201cHer wish is to contribute in saving more lives. This project was originally started by our mother Hyosun Kim.<\/p>\n

That is why the facility will be known as Hee Yeon Memorial (HYM) Hospital,\u201d he said. Kim said, together with his brother Samuel and their mother they decided to build the clinic to help more people in Eswatini.<\/p>\n

Daniel Kim mentioned that the clinic was a seed of cooperation between the Kingdom of Eswatini and South Korea. The NGO is also working together with the Ministry of Health (MOH) in hosting medical specialists from Korea, USA and Europe.<\/p>\n

Principal Secretary of Ministry of Health Dr. Simon Zwane said this project would help more Emaswati, as the people of Ezulwini and surrounding areas would now receive special medical care closer to their area.<\/p>\n

He pledged the ministry\u2019s support during the project, stating that they worked together hand in hand towards its success. On behalf of the community, Pastor Mandla Simelane said they were happy to have a clinic in Ezulwini.<\/p>\n

He said this clinic would also benefit all around Eswatini. He stated that the current clinic situated at Satellite was already overstretched as the area was now densely populated and also offered limited services.<\/p>\n
