Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The saga between Moneni Pirates and their star striker Sibonelo \u2018Jekwa\u2019 Simelane has taken a new twist.<\/b><\/p>\n

The player is said to have taken the Moneni \u2018Buccaneers\u2019 to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Players Status Committee (PSC). This was disclosed yesterday by Pirates during their Management Committee (MC) and supporters meeting held at Manzini Library. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mhlonishwa Motsa, said that they were set to face \u2018Jekwa\u2019 tomorrow after he lodged a complaint against them. \u201cJekwa\u2019 remains AWOL (absent without official leave) and suspended by the team. We are going to meet him on Tuesday (tomorrow) before the status committee after he reported us to them. We are keen to learn on which grounds he reported us as he is our player,\u201d Motsa said. He added that \u2018Jekwa\u2019 started the preseason training with them, but only attended for three days, but he did not participate but watched from the sidelines.<\/p>\n

After his contract expired at the end of last season, the CEO said Pirates renewed it and they also paid him a signing-on fee. However, the player, who is on the verge of joining capital city heavyweights Mbabane Highlanders, had earlier denied the contract with Moneni Pirates, affectionately known as the \u2018Sea Robbers\u2019. He has been seen training with Highlanders and playing in their friendlies, but he has not featured in any of the preseason tournaments for either team. Notably is that this is the second case involving a capital city giants side that has reached the status committee in recent times. Mbabane Swallows were reported to have sought the committee\u2019s intervention last week to stop Royal Leopard from snatching their target Banele \u2018Neymar\u2019 Shongwe from Tambuti.<\/p>\n
