Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>MINISTRY of National Defence and Security Principal Secretary (PS) Prince Sicalo and Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) Commander General Mashikilisana Fakudze were in Rwanda for interactions with high-ranking officials of that country to strengthen military collaboration.<\/b><\/p>\n

Prince Sicalo said the two militaries wanted to share experiences and such a collaborative approach to military affairs served to enrich both countries\u2019 defence strategies and contributes to regional stability.<\/p>\n

The prince said this while addressing Rwandan media soon after a meeting with Rwanda\u2019s Minister of Defence Juve\u0301nal Marizamunda.<\/p>\n

The prince also highlighted that the four-day visit (August 16 \u2013 20) marked an important chapter in the ongoing diplomatic exchanges between Eswatini and Rwanda. He said as the two countries engage in discussions, share experiences, and pay homage to history, their actions re-affirm the significance of international collaboration in pursuit of mutual growth, stability, and lasting peace.<\/p>\n

A statement from the Rwandan military said the meeting served as a platform to discuss shared goals, explore avenues for technical cooperation in the military domain, and forge a path towards a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough knowledge exchange and joint endeavours, the military cooperation between Eswatini and Rwanda is poised to grow stronger,\u201d reads part of the statement.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s military\u2019s top brass also sat through presentations delving into Rwanda\u2019s transformation journey, gaining insights into the country\u2019s military evolution and regional security dynamics.<\/p>\n

These presentations, according to the Rwandan military, were intended to offer a comprehensive understanding of Rwanda\u2019s strategic approach to defence and security, fostering an atmosphere of shared learning.<\/p>\n

As a testament to their acknowledgment of history and respect for the memory of those affected by the tragic events of 1994, they also paid homage to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi at the Kigali genocide Memorial site.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis solemn act underscores the importance of fostering understanding, unity, and peace, not only within Rwanda but throughout the global community,\u201d reads another part of the statement.<\/p>\n
