Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>BRETHREN have been encouraged to pray and His Mercy International House (HMIH) is living up to this mandate.<\/b><\/p>\n

The HMIH has since called a big gathering scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Manzini Library, where brethren will be praying for the ongoing national elections.<\/p>\n

The prayer service starts from 6pm tomorrow to 6am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Guests are VOC personalities Zodwa Tfwala and Pastor Nathi Mhlanga. Pastor Mncedisi Dlamini, who spoke on behalf of HMIH, said the Word of God had mandated brethren to pray for those in leadership positions.<\/p>\n

“In Romans 13:1-7 and 1 Timothy 2;15 we as Christians are encouraged to pray for everyone, especially those in leadership positions.<\/p>\n

“This is so that we live in peace and harmony,” Pastor Dlamini said. He said the prayer service was a platform for Christians to pray for the elections with the exercise now at the most crucial stages. The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) will be staging the primary elections on Saturday in all 59 tinkhundla centres countrywide.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want the righteous and God-fearing people to win because ‘when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice’ (Proverbs 29:2).<\/p>\n

That’s why as the church we must pray without ceasing,” Dlamini said. Pastors from several denominations will also attend the HMIH prayer service. Romans 13:1 states ‘Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe authorities that exist have been established by God’.<\/p>\n

While 1Timothy 2:1-2 states ‘I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people\u2014 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness’.<\/p>\n
