Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Transport has been made available for maidens to Ludzidzini Royal Residence from today.<\/b><\/p>\n

Through Imbali leader Princess Sakhizwe, Their Majesties announced that there will be transport from respective royal kraals from 8am.<\/p>\n

She made the announcement at Ludzidzini Royal Residence yesterday.<\/p>\n

The princess said transport would be available from imiphakatsi to pick-up points, which was where they would then be collectively transported to Ludzidzini Royal Residence, where they were expected to register upon arrival.<\/p>\n

Maidens are expected to follow all processes from commissioning until delivery of the reed before Their Majesties and dancing on the main day, next week Monday.<\/p>\n

They are also expected to attend the 55\/55 Double Celebrations in honour of His Majesty\u2019s 55th birthday and 55 years since the country gained independence on September 6, 1968.<\/p>\n

Recently, Princess Sakhizwe announced that traditional leaders and chiefs were expected to release four emajaha to guard maidens and report to the respective authorities in the event they got sick.<\/p>\n

The chiefs were also urged to warn the maidens and overseers (tindvuna) to carry themselves in a good manner while attending the ceremony and advised the traditional leaders against releasing very young girls, stating that the reed was now scarce in nearby areas and as such they would not be able to travel the long distances.<\/p>\n

She further cautioned maidens against donning artificial hair and wearing of make-up.<\/p>\n

Local and international media was also urged to consult before writing or publishing about the event.<\/p>\n
