Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The persons living with disabilities have not and will not be left behind in the 2023 historic National elections.<\/b><\/p>\n

Three people with disabilities booked their place in the secondary elections.<\/p>\n

This comes after they won the primary elections, which took place on Saturday. This was announced by the Federation of the Disabled People in Eswatini (FODSWA) President, Bongani Makama.<\/p>\n

Two of the winners are competing in the MP category, while the other for the Indvuna Yenkhundla position. One of the MPs candidates, according to Makama.<\/p>\n

Two of the names unveiled include Sipho Dlamini, who is competing for the MP position at Mavula Chiefdom under Mayiwane Constituency and Bheki Ngwenya, who won in his chiefdom as Indvuna Yenkhundla candidate at Zombodze Emuva.<\/p>\n

During the morning live show on Eswatini Broadcasting Service (EBIS), he said he was still gathering details on whether one woman has really won as people say.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is confusion in that chiefdom regarding the final results,\u201d said Makama.<\/p>\n

He said the organisation was still in the process of finding out the exact number of people who won in the primary elections out of the over 22,000 who registered. According to him, it might be possible that more won but were yet to be unveiled.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect to get the exact number of those with disabilities who made it through to the next round of the elections,\u201d said Makama.<\/p>\n

He said they were happy for those who won in the primary elections, even though they did not reach their expected target.<\/p>\n
