The three-day event will see bikers from South Africa, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Mpumalanga and Mozambique, as well as locals, take part in the rally. Banele Dlamini, who is one of the organisers, shared with this publication that they were expecting at least 200 bikers at this year\u2019s rally. He said: \u201cWe are expecting at least 200 bikers at this year\u2019s rally from Cape Town. They left Mothercity on Wednesday and slept in Kimberly. Normally, it\u2019s bikers from Cape Town and Durban who arrive first.\u201d Dlamnini went on to say that bikers from Johannesburg and other places would stop at the Ngwenya complex, just after the border gate, for a service stop to get more information and services.<\/p>\n

Complex<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe bikers will start at the complex today after 8am to get directions, SIM cards, and other services before heading to the venue to camp for the weekend for the rally,\u201d shared Dlamini. He went on to say the mass rally will be tomorrow between 9am and 11am before the actual show kicks off on the main day. It\u2019s been 29 years since the annual Swazi Rally event came to life. It is an annual biker\u2019s event held at Riders Ranch. The rally is held over the last weekend of August annually.<\/p>\n

Thousands of motorcyclist enthusiasts congregate, have a fun-filled weekend with biker friends, and make new, long-lasting biking relationships. The organiser, Carlos Paiva, with the help of his wife Sonia and a dedicated team, began the Swazi Rally 28 years ago, back in 1993. The 2020 show was postponed to 2021 in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Last year\u2019s show was themed \u2018Vakasha Ekhaya\u2019, and bikers explored local tourism attractions. The event is one of the biggest events hosted in the country, and it is worth noting that the show attracts more than 10 000 people.<\/p>\n

Rally<\/b><\/p>\n

When quizzed about how ready the organisers were for the number of people expected to attend the rally, Dlamini assured the nation that they were ready. He went on to share that the bikers would set up camp today until the last day of the rally, which is Sunday. South African musician Oscar Mbo is set to perform at this year\u2019s rally. Born Oscar Mbongeni Ndlovu is a South African record producer, podcaster, and DJ. He creates House music containing elements of Deep House, Deep Tech, Nu Jazz, broken beat, and Lounge music. He is best known for his founding and starring roles in the entertainment podcast, The Ashmed Hour Show. The much-anticipated Swazi Rally kicks off today and will be held at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo.<\/p>\n
