Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Members of Parliament (MPs) are not taking the issue of lack of internationally adequate sporting and recreation facilities in the country lightly.<\/b><\/p>\n

During their House of Assembly sitting yesterday, where they were sitting for the second time for the Ministry of Sport, Culture and Youth Affairs Portfolio Committee debate of the ministry\u2019s annual performance report for the financial year 2021\/22 and the budget estimates for the financial year 2022\/23, the legislators had Minister Harries \u2018Madze\u2019 Bulunga admit to the topical facilities issue, especially an upmarket football stadium.<\/p>\n

This follows that Royal Leopard and the senior national team Sihlangu Semnikati were forced to play their international home matches in South Africa\u2019s Mbombela Stadium due a yet another Confederation of African Football (CAF) ban of Mavuso Sports Centre, while Somhlolo National Stadium was banned in 2018 and has been under refurbishment since 2019.
\nThe actual debate of the performance report and estimates for this financial year was held on February 25, this year. Following questions by the MPs, Bulunga gave his responses while also appreciating comments from the legislators on some of the issues touching on his ministry.<\/p>\n
