Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>A bigger Trade Fair Cup is on the cards.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is after the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade promised the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) that they would work together with the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) to secure a sponsorship for next year\u2019s Trade Fair Cup. The good news was delivered by the Minister, Manqoba Khumalo, during the official closing of the 10-day 2023 Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) at the Mavuso Exhibition Centre yesterday. The Trade Fair was officially closed by the Prime Minister (PM), Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, who was represented by Khumalo.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to echo the words that have been mentioned here by our chairperson in thanking the various sponsors, including the Premier League of Eswatini. Soccer has been with the Eswatini International Trade Fair for many years, let me say for decades,\u201d Khumalo said. He said the tournament came back this year strong and, therefore, promised the PLE that next year\u2019s soccer tournament would be bigger and better. \u201cWe as a ministry will work with EIPA to find a sponsorship that will be at least be E3 million,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that the recently-ended Trade Fair Cup was sponsored to the tune of E1 050 000 by PLE. This was after the minister announced in a press conference that the organisation informed him that they had failed to secure a sponsor for the tournament. The PLE however, launched the tournament in a ceremony which was held at the Sigwaca House late last month. Correctional Services outfit, Green Mamba, were crowned champions after walloping capital city giants Mbabane Swallows 6-0 in the finals, which were played at the Mavuso Sports Centre two days ago.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PLE Brand and Marketing Manager Lindelwa \u2018Malindi\u2019 Dlamini said they were not at the closing ceremony when Khumalo made this promise. He, however, said once an official statement had reached his office he would be at liberty to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n
