Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2023 has resulted to enormous economic stimulation.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is so as many companies, contractors, traders and vendors were engaged in business activities with benefits that extend beyond the 10 days.<\/p>\n

Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo who represented Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini yesterday at the official closing of EITF 2023 said the 10-day event was a platform to promote business and economic growth for Eswatini.<\/p>\n

He noted that the standard for exhibitions this year was quite high with the last trade fair having been hosted in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndeed, it was an International Trade Fair with many countries exhibiting at this year\u2019s trade fair.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that members of the public came in large numbers which was an indication that business was supported by the local and international consumer base.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is worth noting that centralised consumer services platform such as the trade fair are in high demand as customers visit the one platform to get services from a number of companies and organisations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Government services were also present at the trade fair modelling a one-stop shop where one had access to many departments and parastatals in the same space.<\/p>\n

He congratulated all the exhibitors who were over 300 for the work done in creating masterpieces in the exhibition stands.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is unimaginable that there can be a company that does not deserve to win for the excellence and effort made towards exhibiting their products and services at the trade fair.\u201d<\/p>\n

The premier then challenged EIPA to start planning and preparing for the next trade fair, which would be held from August 30 to September 8, 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to an even bigger and better Trade Fair for 2024,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On that note, one of the sponsors of EITF 2023 Eswatini Bank Managing Director, Nozizwe Mulela highlighted the importance of stimulating trade saying \u201cit is through trade that we connect with the global community, exchange ideas and create economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said this year\u2019s trade fair exemplified the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration that would drive the nation’s progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe anticipation to attend this year\u2019s trade fair from exhibitors and visitors was tangible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mulela added that the platform provided by EIPA showcased the incredible potential and endless possibilities that Eswatini had to offer.<\/p>\n

\u2018The theme of this year’s trade fair, “Endless Possibilities,\u2019 could not be more fitting as we celebrate Eswatini\u2019s 55th year of independence; our nation is brimming with opportunities and untapped potential.,\u201d said Mulela.<\/p>\n

She said the country had a rich cultural heritage, abundant natural resources, as well as a skilled workforce, among other. \u201cThese are the foundations upon which we can build a vibrant and prosperous future,\u201d she said, adding that the future held endless possibilities for both EswatiniBank and Eswatini.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are investing in cutting-edge technology to make banking more accessible and convenient for all citizens, expanding our financial services to support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the backbone of our economy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mulela declared that the bank was also exploring sustainable finance initiatives to protect the environment and promote responsible business practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe road ahead may present challenges, but Eswatini has a history of resilience and determination,\u201d she said. Adding, \u201cAs we celebrate our 55th year of independence, let us remember the progress we have made.<\/p>\n

Let us also look forward with optimism to the next 55 years, knowing that together, we can achieve greatness as we have witnessed at this year\u2019s trade fair.\u201d<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Eswatini Investment Authority (EIPA) board, Samuel Mdluli said he was impressed by the presence of international exhibitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe more we engage among ourselves through platforms such as this will enable us to reinforce bilateral trade agreements so that we can trade amongst ourselves as African countries,\u201d said Mdluli.<\/p>\n

He emphasised that during the next trade fair, exhibitors should come back even stronger.<\/p>\n
