Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Two of World Vision in Eswatini\u2019s Area Programmes (APs) transitioned; Maphalaleni officially transitioned Wednesday, whilst Mpolonjeni AP closed yesterday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Explaining what an AP transition means, WVE National Director, Tinah Mukunda said this simply means that the communities that WV has been operating in have come of age.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn AP transition doesn\u2019t mean that WV is leaving the country, but because it is time to let communities stand on their own as we move on to support other areas of the country\u201d, she explained.<\/p>\n

When World Vision leaves a community, the Area Programme Office is relinquished to the leaders of that area:<\/p>\n

Maphalaleni Office, including the furniture inside, was left to be used as Maphalaleni Inkhundla Mpolonjeni Office, with its furniture included, was handed over to the Royal Eswatini Police Service to be used as a police post.<\/p>\n

Mukundah further urged the community leaders to ensure that sustainability is maintained.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs World Vision, we would, therefore, like to request and encourage that the community leadership continues to ensure continuous development of their communities and avoid regression\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n
