Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Matsapha Town Council has reported a E1.1 million increase in revenue for the year ended March 31.<\/b><\/p>\n

The municipality\u2019s revenue for the financial year under review is E43.9 million, while the previous financial year it recorded revenue at E42.7 million.<\/p>\n

According to the Matsapha Town Council\u2019s annual report for the financial year 2022\/23, the financial year marked the end of the implementation of Council\u2019s strategic document known as the Integrated Development Plan 2018-2024.<\/p>\n

It highlighted that in a bid to improve lighting efficiency and save energy costs for the town, the council embarked on a project for the installation of a light emitting diode (LED Lights) at Tubungu Township worth E500 000.<\/p>\n

The council further implemented traffic lights upgrade along MR03 and Ludvonga Street worth E150 000.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the measures the council is implementing to resolve the issue of traffic congestion in the town,\u201d reads the report in part.<\/p>\n

It further highlighted that the rehabilitation of King Mswati III street junctions, walkways, pipe culverts and drains cost the council E5 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough the project the town has realised an improvement in the traffic flow as well as an improved drainage system along the street,\u201d reads the report.<\/p>\n
