Based in Mbabane, Zone 4, Motsa said he at times needs to experience sleepless nights but it brings him all the joy when he has a satisfied client. \u201cIf you want to become a graphic designer you need to understand that you can at times work with difficult clients, who expect you to stay relevant.<\/p>\n

As well as allowing yourself to be open to rejection and criticism,\u2019\u2019 Motsa said.<\/p>\n

His advise to anyone who wants to the industry:<\/p>\n

Be Inspired, But Don\u2019t Copy<\/p>\n

The first thing you have to remember is to avoid imitating other designers style.<\/p>\n

You can, of course, take the inspiration from other designers\u2019 but if you try to mimic other designers you will never find success.<\/p>\n

Welcome Constructive Criticism<\/p>\n

We understand that when you invest time, energy and creativity into a design, you get attached. But if that attachment restricts you from taking constructive criticism then you are in a trouble. Meaningful criticism will help you to improve your work and grow in your field.<\/p>\n

Listen To Clients<\/p>\n

When you are creating a design for a client, your ultimate goal is to produce the design that fits your client\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n

There will be the cases when you and your client will be on the same page, but that will not be always the case.<\/p>\n

Instead of jumping over the client with your graphic design ideas, ask him the question and get a clear picture of what they want, why they want it and what they want to achieve.<\/p>\n

Surround Yourself With Creative People<\/p>\n

There is a saying \u201cIf you lie down with dogs, you will stand up with fleas\u201d and it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

The people you surround yourself with have a lot of influence on your thoughts and behaviour. So it is very important to hang out with people who can inspire you, push you to become a better person and give constructive criticism.<\/p>\n
