Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>World Vision Eswatini through support from the Covid-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) project under CANGO, is currently engaged in food parcels distribution for People Living with Disabilities in 14 Tinkhundla centres in the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

These are namely; Maphalaleni, Mayiwane, Ndzingeni, Hhukwini, Kubuta, Gege, Nkwene, Matsanjeni, Somntongo, Zombodze, Mahlangatsha, Mtfongwaneni, Ntontozi and Mhlume.<\/p>\n

According to the World Vision Communications team \u201cA total of 550 people living with disabilities are benefiting from this distribution; 316 are Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and 234 are Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM).\u201d<\/p>\n

The main beneficiaries for the distribution are Adolescent Girls and Young Women and also Adolescents Boys and Young Men living with disabilities, from the age range of below 10 years to 24 years.<\/p>\n

This is an ongoing exercise that began in June 2023 and will end in February 2024. Each person receives 15 kg rice, 5 kg beans, 3 kg sugar, 2 bars of soap and 2 litres of cooking oil.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development has concluded Regional Consultations with Bantfwabenkhosi, Chiefs and Tindvuna on the Social Accountability Initiative in Hhohho.<\/p>\n

The Accountability initiative is a tool sharpened and ready to call upon those in authority to deliver effectively to the electorate.<\/p>\n

The Need for this Social Accountability Initiative (SAI) arises from calls made by key stakeholders and citizens who noted amongst others that Politicians do not have a reporting back arrangement to the electorate once elected.<\/p>\n

There are also no Frameworks and Systems for Public Participation in local Governance and that Politicians usually carry an uncoordinated political mandate from the people.<\/p>\n
