Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Familiar faces were leading in the special voting process yesterday.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was before votes for inmates and the diaspora were included.<\/p>\n

Special voting results, which came in at the time of going to print saw Minister of Labour and Social Security, Phila Buthelezi leading under Matsanjeni North Constituency with 123 votes.<\/p>\n

Buthelezi is the area\u2019s former member of Parliament.<\/p>\n

Other familiar faces who garnered most of the votes were journalists, Welcome Dlamini, under the Mbabane East Inkhundla with 134 votes and Eswatini Financial Times Editor, Alec Lushaba under Hhhukwini with 127 votes.<\/p>\n

Mandla Siyaya led under Mbabane West with 54 votes.<\/p>\n

At Lomahasha, Zanele Mashaba was leading with 116 votes while under Ludzeludze Inkhundla, Mvubu Mbuso was leading with 105 votes.<\/p>\n

The EBC stated that the special voting process proceeded smoothly as their network was good yesterday.<\/p>\n

This allowed voters to quickly get verification before proceeding to vote, which also allowed for the counting of votes to start early.<\/p>\n

EBC Deputy Chairperson, Bishop Sipho Tembe, said the special voting process was peaceful and that they started by doing a proper set up on Tuesday, which gave them time to start the process smoothly in all pavilions.<\/p>\n

Tembe said there was no wind, which could have disturbed the network so people were verified easily and were able to vote without any issues.<\/p>\n

He said there were election observers from the European Union, SADC and the African Union.<\/p>\n

One of the observers from the African Union even went to an extent of congratulating him on the peaceful elections, said Tembe.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said congratulations, what I see is beautiful,\u201d the deputy chairperson stated.<\/p>\n

He said counting started on time just after 5pm.<\/p>\n
