Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>As the public is casting their votes today, they have one mandate in mind as said by His Majesty King Mswati III.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a media briefing yesterday, His Majesty King Mswati III said emaSwati should vote for people who will ensure that the kingdom remains peaceful.<\/p>\n

His Majesty encouraged people to vote for candidates that love Eswatini and the Nation and who will continue to advance the kingdom\u2019s development aspirations.<\/p>\n

His Majesty spoke when addressing the media during a report back session on his return from New York, USA, yesterday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe outgoing Government did an exceptional job and the incoming Government should do the same so that we may continue to be ranked highly as a country in terms of the economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese should be people who love the kingdom; who will protect it, and who will ensure that the country continues on its development path, while maintaining peace and stability and continuing to attract investments, both domestic and foreign,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition the King said whether one was young or old, it is important that no one is left out in the election process.<\/p>\n

No one should say \u2018my voice has not been heard.\u2019 Young people should make sure they participate and vote for men and women who have integrity, are intelligent and who aspire to make the country\u2019s future bright.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Acting Prime Minister Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze yesterday met and welcomed different election observation delegations ahead of today\u2019s general elections.<\/p>\n

Among those he has met are the Commonwealth delegation, the SADC Electoral Observer Mission (SEOM); the SADC Electoral Commissions Forum (ECF \u2013 SADC); and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Maputo.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour presence in the Kingdom reflects your commitment to assist Eswatini implement best practice systems in electoral processes.Surely, the Kingdom believes that this type of support and the recommendations thereof will assist Eswatini to grow as a democratic state,\u201d said the acting MP<\/p>\n

In addition he said the Kingdom of Eswatini reiterates its appreciation for all the support received thus far from all Observer Missions in the country, which also includes financial and technical support.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to your recommendations after the completion of the 2023 General Elections. We further register our commitment to achieving a fair, free, credible and peaceful elections process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Other elections observation missions expected to observe tomorrow\u2019s elections are from the European Union and the Embassy of the United States of America in Eswatini.<\/p>\n
