Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Hhukwini MP-elect Alec Lushaba is one of the many new faces in the 12th Parliament.<\/b><\/p>\n

NOTICEABLY, the 12th Parliament will be dominated by new legislators following that several of the former MPs who served in the 11th Parliament have failed to make it back to the August house.<\/p>\n

Calculations show that of the 59 elected Members of Parliament, 44 of them, which translates to 74 per cent will be occupying the hot parliament seat for the first time in their lives and about 23.7 per cent will be returnees. Observably, the 14 comprise some who served in the 9th, 10th, and 11th Parliament.<\/p>\n

Those who would not be new in the politics game are Manzini South MP-elect, Owen Nxumalo, Nhlambeni MP-elect Manzi Zwane, Zombodze Emuva MP-elect Titus Thwala, Nkwene MP-elect Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, Sigwe MP-elect David \u2018Cruiser\u2019 Ngcamphalala, Lobamba Lomdzala MP-elect Marwick Khumalo, Lobamba MP-elect Michael Masilela, Pigg\u2019s Peak MP-elect Jabulani Mabuza, Siphofaneni MP-elect Nomalungelo Simelane, Maphalaleni MP-elect Mabulala Maseko, Matsanjeni North MP-elect Phila Buthelezi, Lubulini MP-elect Eliezer Tambo Gina, and Mhlume MP-elect Sifiso Magagula.<\/p>\n

The imminent dominance by the MP rookies was laid bare just after the primary elections on August 26, 2023, where only 33 per cent of the former MPs for the 11th Parliament progressed to the secondary election.<\/p>\n

Those who went through were Marwick Khumalo from Lobamba Lomdzala, Nomalungelo Simelane from Siphofaneni, Madala Mhlanga from Mhlangatane Inkhundla, Phila Buthelezi from Matsanjeni South, Mabulala Maseko from Maphalaleni, Thandi Motsa from Manzini South, David \u2018Cruiser\u2019 Ngcampalala from Sigwe, Tambo Gina from Lubulini, Jabulani Mabuza from Pigg\u2019s Peak, Manzi Zwane from Nhlambeni, Nkhanyeti Ngwenya from Hhukwini, Madala Mhlanga from Mhlangatane and Ndumiso Masimula from Lomahasha Inkhundla among others.<\/p>\n

Of those, who progressed to the secondary elections, we saw Lobamba Lomdzala MP-elect, Nhlambeni MP-elect Manzi Zwane, David Ngcamphalala, Siphofaneni MP-elect Nomalungelo Simelane, Maphalaleni MP-elect Mabulala Maseko, Lubulini MP-elect Eliezer Thambo Gina and Pigg\u2019s Peak MP-elect Jabulani Mabuza who eventually reclaimed their seats.<\/p>\n

On the flipside, those who have lost in the primaries include Robert Magongo from Motshane, Michael Masuku from Mkhiweni, Big Boy Mamba from Ngudzeni, Bhekitje Mamba from Sithobelweni, Mabhanisi Dlamini from Kwaluseni, Vulimpompi Nhleko from Nkwene, Derrick Masuku from KuMethula and Lady Howard-Mabuza from Mafutseni to mention a few.<\/p>\n

Based on the primary elections results, several constituencies which will be represented by new MPs include Ngudzeni, Maseyisini, Mbabane East, Motshane, Ndzingeni, Mkhiweni, Mhlangatane, Kwaluseni, Hosea, Hhukwini, Mafutseni, Madlangephisi, Shiselweni I, Sithobelweni, Nkwene and Manzini North, KuMethula, Gege.<\/p>\n
