Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Fundile Kunene from the Hhohho Region walked away with E5 000 at the Show Your Talent second edition competition.<\/b><\/p>\n

The competition, which was held at The George Hotel in Manzini on Saturday, saw more than 40 local artists audition for the E5 000 prize money and an opportunity to represent Eswatini in June 2024 at Talent America. Kunene (23) stepped on stage and beautifully rendered the song titled \u2018Titanium\u2019 by David Guetta, featuring Sia. The rendition received roaring applause from the audience and very positive remarks from the judges. Internationally acclaimed music artist Mbongiseni Bholoja Ngubane, who was part of the judging panel, praised Kunene after her audition and said: \u201cYou are amazing. It is very refreshing to see such amazing talent in Eswatini. You even gave me goose bumps\u201d. All the other judges echoed Bholoja\u2019s words. There were two other winners: dancer Mbongeni Vilakati and model Temashabalala Mabuza. The three winners, Kunene, Vilakati, and Mabuza, have made the team that will be travelling to New York in June 2024 to represent the country in Talent America.<\/p>\n

The Director of Show Your Talent Eswatini, Velile Dube, wrapped up the competition and said: \u201cThe Manzini competition was absolutely amazing; we had artists coming from as far as the Lubombo region to compete. We now have a full team of artists and are now setting our sights on going to Talent America in June 2024. This competition was the first of its kind locally, and it went great. We look forward to many more years of unearthing local talent and exposing it to this international platform.\u201d The judging panel included former Miss Eswatini beauty queens Ayanda Dube and Samukelisiwe Magagula, Copyright Chairperson and creative director Samkeliso Nxumalo, dancer Buyisile Cele, music producer Ndumiso Dlamini, and Velile Dube.<\/p>\n
