Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Phil Mnisi presented the 6th edition of the Annual Integrated Report for the financial year 2022\/23 at the Happy Valley Hotel on Monday morning.<\/b><\/p>\n

It was in this report that he mentioned CBE recorded impressive earnings of E385 million, which have improved 111.7 percent.<\/p>\n

This Report forms part of the Bank\u2019s public accountability, transparency, and responsibility to a broad range of stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Present at the event were distinguished guests from various sectors, including senior Government Officials, Central Bank Board Members, Management and Staff, members of the Monetary Policy Consultative Committee, Heads and representatives of banks and other financial institutions, private sector companies, and the media.<\/p>\n

The Governor highlighted that matters included in the report are aimed at informing and providing assurance to stakeholders on the Bank\u2019s ability to deliver on its mandate, commitment to sustained relationships, and responsible corporate citizenship.<\/p>\n

It further sheds light on the Bank\u2019s overall and country\u2019s financial standing, highlighting the GDP, economic developments, the Bank\u2019s strategy, and initiatives amongst others.<\/p>\n

The presentation also addressed Inflation dynamics, GDP developments, external reserves, public finance, national payment systems, monetary policy, and financial stability amongst others.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Governor urged the public to remain cautious of illicit activities, particularly pyramid schemes and emphasised the importance of conducting thorough research before engaging with such schemes.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of E445.46 million was paid by the Bank as dividend to the Government of Eswatini in line with the CBS Order of 1974 (as amended) following a total comprehensive income of E1.01 billion realised by the CBE in 2022\/23,\u201d said Mnisi.<\/p>\n

He further said, The CBE identified 10 internal and external factors that can substantially affect its ability to create value over the short, medium and long terms.<\/p>\n

These conditions posed by the operating environment are considered as threats and opportunities to the Bank\u2019s objectives and as such inform the CBE\u2019s risk landscape.<\/p>\n
