Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The founder and Executive Director of Food Quest Eswatini Celani Matsenjwa is looking forward to engage the newly elected politicians since they are responsible for passing laws and he is hoping that they will make laws and policies as far as food banks are concerned.<\/b><\/p>\n

Established in 2022 and officially launched in May 2023, Food Quest Eswatini is a non-profit making organization seeking to unify two missions in one entity, the reduction of food loss and waste also the delivery of food resources to the hungry. This will be achieved through the food banking model. It is the first entity to adopt the food banking model.<\/p>\n

Founder and Executive Director of Food Quest Eswatini Celani Matsenjwa.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the launch, we had more farmers donating their surplus produce\u201d, said Matsenjwa. The organization is currently getting technical support from the Global Food Banking Network (GFN) based in the United States of America. This is an agency that helps food banks to advance globally. \u201cWe are working towards achieving a membership certification from GFN. We also had the privilege to attend the food banking summit in Mexico City and also visited other food banks in the USA\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n

Matsenjwa also mentioned that they are looking forward to working with the government, companies and individuals on this initiative as they are preparing to attend the Global Food Banking Leadership Institute in Australia next year.<\/p>\n
