Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Royal Eswatini Police Service and the grieving family of Commissioner William Dlamini, who tragically passed away on Saturday at the OR Tambo International Airport.<\/b><\/p>\n

Commissioner Dlamini was en route to the Kingdom of Eswatini from Angola, where he had been attending the 26th Interpol African Regional Conference.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner collapsed and tragically lost his life at the airport, marking a devastating end to his official trip. Both Commissioner Dlamini\u2019s family and the delegation accompanying him have received crucial psychosocial support from psychologists affiliated with the SAPS Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) unit during this difficult time.<\/p>\n

According to the SAPS released statement General Masemola expressed his sorrow over the loss, describing Commissioner Dlamini as a dedicated, soft-spoken senior police officer. Dlamini was known for his unwavering commitment to fostering collaboration aimed at countering transnational organized crime within the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur sincerest condolences to the Royal Eswatini Police Service and the family of the late Commissioner. Commissioner Dlamini was humble and dedicated to the cause of serving. He was always available to discuss collaboration in preventing and combating cross-border crime in the SADC region. The SAPS is providing the necessary support in line with its expertise through its Interpol office\u201d, said General Fannie Masemola.<\/p>\n
