Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>BOTSWANA national team coach Mogomotsi Mpote says today\u2019s international friendly against Eswatini will help them judge how much progress they have made.<\/b><\/p>\n

Sihlangu will be up against the Zebras of Botswana in Lobatse at the Lobatse Sports Complex and kick-off is at 4pm.<\/p>\n

This will be the nation\u2019s pride second and last match of the international break after they played Bafana Bafana on Friday.<\/p>\n

Mpote said they were preparing for their World Cup Qualifiers next month, where they would be playing Mozambique and Guinea.<\/p>\n

The coach said preparations for their match against Sihlangu were going well and they would use it as a barometer on progress made.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe players have been working very hard with different methods of training, which involves both tactical and physical training. I think the game against Eswatini will help us judge how ready we are for the qualification games. The match will give us a guide and outline on all the work we have done,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He went on to share that his team was almost back to full fitness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe league here in Botswana has just started and this match will help us in terms of match fitness. If we look at the players they are about at 70 per cent fit and will be back at their best next month when we play the qualifiers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Sihlangu head coach Dominic Kunene would also be watching his troops closely to see how much progress they had made, after their impressive draw with South Africa on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that Botswana, just like the previous opponents South Africa, are not a team that we often beat, which is why the match will be important to us. We will use it to see how much progress we have made because these matches are in preparation for our World Cup Qualifiers which we are hoping to do well in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The last time the two sides met was in the COSAFA Cup earlier this year which saw Botswana win the match 1-0, and Eswatini have not been able to beat Botswana in their last four meetings.<\/p>\n
