Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>After a failed move to South Africa\u2019s DStv Premiership side Royal AM, a lucrative deal reportedly awaits Mxolisi \u2018Kudus\u2019 Mkhonto in Botswana.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Sihlangu and Green Mamba star had agreed terms with Royal AM and featured in their pre-season tournaments, but he could not complete the switch due to the transfer ban imposed on the South African side by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA). The KwaZulu-Natal-based side was punished for purpotedly failure to meet contractual obligations involving former player Samir Nurkovic. The first window registration period closed without the ban being lifted and this forced Mkhonto to return to Green Mamba.<\/p>\n

Fresh reports suggest that Galaxy, who recently eliminated Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League, have renewed their interest in the gifted midfielder. It is said, they initially wanted to sign him before he went to try his luck at Royal AM. With the uncertainty surrounding the move to South Africa, Galaxy are said to have now jumped in with a lucrative offer and look to bring the player on board in January when the second window registration period opens. Reports from Botswana suggest he could earn not less than E40 000 per month. \u201cWith Sihlangu playing Botswana tomorrow (today), Galaxy officials will have a chance to make their final assessment on the player,\u201d said an impeccable source.<\/p>\n

Green Mamba Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mandla Sibiya could only confirm learning of the interest through the player\u2019s FIFA-accredited Agent Dingane Maduma, but said there was no formal bid the last time he checked. Maduma said Galaxy as a professional club knew the procedure to follow, saying there was nothing formal yet. If the move would be completed, \u2018Kudus\u2019 will join the likes of Richards Bay\u2019s Justice Figuaredo, Botswana\u2019s Police XI\u2019s Banele \u2018Stiga\u2019 Ndzabandzaba and Lindo Mkhonta of Zesco United from Zambia in the professional ranks.<\/p>\n
