Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Pigg\u2019s Peak Ratepayers\u2019 Association has called for a probe by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development following allegations of a sex scandal implicating two employees of the town council. <\/b><\/p>\n

Online publication, reported that a purported \u2018husband\u2019 to the female employee went to the hotel where a conference had been held and a heated confrontation ensued as he allegedly wanted to teach the male colleague a lesson. The conference was held at Happy Valley Hotel. After learning about the alleged drama that happened at the hotel involving the council employees, the association called a press conference and through Secretary General Busta Vilakati, said they sympathised with the affected \u2018spouse\u2019. The association said they condemned the council\u2019s employees\u2019 alleged actions as that was not what they expected from them. \u201cFirst of all, they did not send any correspondence to us to inform ratepayers that they will be holding a budget seminar and the members who will form part of the meeting as it had always been the case when there would be such engagements,\u201d said Vilakati.<\/p>\n

The association said it was of the view that their working relationship with the council was still not smooth despite the fact that council management had promised last year, during a meeting at the Pigg\u2019s Peak Hotel, that they would be working on improving their relationship such that there was transparency by sticking to the two entities\u2019 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). \u201cThe implicated individuals should not return to Pigg\u2019s Peak (council) pending an investigation and action to be conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development,\u201d Vilakati said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the implicated female employee said the allegations of having a sexual relationship with her colleague at Happy Valley were untrue. She claimed such allegations were spread by a bitter ex-boyfriend. Reached for comment, the council CEO stated: \u201cFollowing the article which was widely circulating on social media about the allegation that a certain male council employee was confronted by the \u2018husband\u2019 of an employee, regarding allegations of them having an affair, please note that I did not witness any altercation between the council employee and \u2018husband\u2019 of the female employee. That said, I\u2019m unable to comment on issues based on hearsay.\u201d Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Dr Simon Zwane, when asked if they would take up the matter briefly responded that the ministry had not yet received a report on such a matter.<\/p>\n
