Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>His Majesty King Mswati III says discussions directed towards exploration of a particular subject or resolution of a problem are a fundamental part of Emaswati\u2019s character.<\/b><\/p>\n

The King said this through Prince Mshengu during the commemoration of the Day of German Unity at Malandela\u2019s yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The day is celebrated annually on October 3, commemorating the country\u2019s reunification, which is inextricably linked to the end of the Cold War, European integration and the restoration of peace in Europe. \u201cDialogue is in our DNA and has kept us together as a nation,\u201d His Majesty said, expressing anticipation for Sibaya scheduled for next Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis forum is an all-inclusive process because we believe everyone has a role to play in the development of our nation,\u201d the King said, further highlighting that the country was a strong advocate of \u2018leaving no one behind\u2019.<\/p>\n

He said Eswatini was concerned by all the conflicts and wars around the globe because they were an enemy of development which causes suffering to many people. \u201cInnocent lives get lost,\u201d said the King, urging those involved in wars and conflicts to silence the guns and find amicable solutions to address their differences.<\/p>\n

Democracy<\/p>\n

His Majesty also spoke about the country’s unique system of governance, and said the peaceful, free and fair elections held recently proved that Eswatini\u2019s homegrown democracy can propel the nation to greater heights.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur philosophy is that a united nation can attain its national vision when it works together,\u201d the King emphasised.<\/p>\n

He said Eswatini appreciates the warm and cordial relations it enjoys with Germany, and shone light on the need to nurture them for the benefit of future generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we strengthen our relations, we are convinced that our joint efforts will also improve our trade interests and, in the process, empower our business community and the people,\u201d said the King. He also also invited German businesses to consider the country as one of their investment destinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cEswatini is a very good country to invest in and is ready to do business,\u201d said the King, adding that the country has strategically positioned itself as a launch pad for markets in the region as a member of different blocs in the region. His Majesty also thanked the German government for supporting the country in different sectors, such as education, health, agriculture as well as the exchange of cultural activities between the countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour support goes a long way in improving the lives of many people and has immensely contributed to our development as a nation and the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),\u201d the King said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, German Ambassador to Eswatini Andreas Peschke said the Central European country values the good long-standing relations between the two countries, adding that as part of the European Union, Germany was committed to joint development work and cooperation with Eswatini.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne example for good collaboration is the establishment of small-scale businesses (MSMEs) and cooperatives supported by the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation by facilitating the establishment of the National Cooperative Federation as the umbrella body,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cCooperative Education, especially for the youth, is strengthened and Eswatini has been chosen as one of three countries globally for this cooperation, which can provide core-banking software to financial institutions in Southern Africa, a sign that Emaswati are at the forefront of digitasation and that we value the partnership very much,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Peschke said as long-standing friends, Germany follows the country\u2019s development with sincere attention, and therefore, appreciates the announcement of a national dialogue and hope it can be launched soon, stating that they stand ready to provide further cooperation and support.<\/p>\n
