Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The string of poor results has ignited serious tension at Moneni Pirates, where a power struggle is in full swing.<\/b><\/p>\n

Latest reports coming out from the Bucs camp is that there is serious infighting between the current and past management committee (MC). It is understood that some members of the past MC want to return and take over power and run the team. Insiders have revealed that due to the tension, it will be difficult for the team to get positive results anytime soon. So serious is the situation that the club has been told they won\u2019t win games anytime soon unless changes were implemented in the MC. Coincidentally, Pirates are yet to record victory this season and remain rooted at the bottom of the log standings with a point.<\/p>\n

The misunderstanding between the two factions has also affected the coach and players mentally.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is rapidly reaching boiling point between the past MC and the current leaders,\u201d said a source within the team. He said the team\u2019s authorities needed to intervene to solve this, as it was greatly affecting the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not want to give you too many details because it might divide the team even more. What I can tell you is that the two factions are at loggerheads and it is now getting out of hand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s Public Relations Officer, Sibusiso Nkambule said if there was anything like that, it was happening outside the structures of the club (Board of Directors, Management Committee and National Supporters Committee). He also set the record straight that the MC was appointed by the Board of Directors; hence no one had powers to roll back its decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a clear working structure at Moneni Pirates. The Board of Directors, which is the highest structure, appoints the MC. The latter is accountable to the board. No one has powers to remove the MC until the Board of Directors decides otherwise. Or maybe if there are some people who are not happy, they must communicate their grievances through the NSC,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Nkambule added that they were not in trouble, it\u2019s just the issue of results, which were not forthcoming. \u201cIn terms of welfare, our players are well-looked after. It\u2019s just the issue of results which are not favouring us,\u201d he said. Meanwhile, Moneni Pirates face another uphill battle this weekend against Mbabane Highlanders.<\/p>\n
