Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Of the 22 panelists who spoke at SIbaya People\u2019s Parliament last week, Fezeka Dlamini has emerged as the people\u2019s highest-rated panelist.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was based on the results of the ratings exercise, which was conducted through the EBC app which was provided by the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC), and powered by the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP).<\/p>\n

The rating exercises were open to all members of the public, where each panelist could be rated on a scale of one (lowest rating) to six (highest rating).<\/p>\n

Senate-elect Fezeka Dlamini emerged with the highest ratings at 19,413. Dlamini had spoken about economic development in the country, citing that, as a farmer, she was certain that encouraging the youth to take on the agricultural enterprise was a means to ensure food safety for the country and to increase employment.<\/p>\n

Former Prime Minister Sibusiso Cleopas Dlamini was the sixth highest-rated panelist, after former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Thulisile Dladla who was the fifth highest-rated panelist at Sibaya People\u2019s Parliament. The former Prime Minister had addressed the nation on Government spending, among other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce the budget is completed and is in front of Parliament, Members of Parliament tend to have a limited assessment of the benefits of how the budget is structured \u2013 such as considering only the road development in their communities, for example. MP\u2019s should be looking into the needs of the whole country, not assessing budget needs on a micro level, but rather on a macro level,\u201d advised Dlamini.<\/p>\n

The eighth and ninth highest-rated panelists were MP Welcome Dlamini and former Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Mancoba Khumalo.<\/p>\n

Dlamini submitted on more than one occasion at the People\u2019s Parliament, addressing issues of corruption, state security, technological innovation, and economic development among other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour Majesty, we will request that the Prime Minister you appoint should be brave. He should be able to come to you and report if any of your subordinates is perpetrating corruption. In Siswati, we say that \u201cumuntfu uyacelwwa enkhosini\u201d and the King always provides for his people what they need. We therefore request, Your Majesty, that the Prime Minister should be brave enough to confront corrupt individuals who have a close relationship with you,\u201d passionately advised Dlamini, much to the crowd\u2019s affirming chants.<\/p>\n

The ratings are still ongoing on the last day of the Sibaya People\u2019s Parliament.<\/p>\n

It is highly anticipated that His Majesty King Mswati III will announce the appointed Prime Minister for the 12th parliament of the Kingdom of Eswatini.<\/p>\n
