Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>EswatiniBank Managing Director (MD) says the development taking place in Pigg\u2019s Peak town was impressive and pleasing that MSMEs are at the heart of that development.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mulela said a bank that has had a branch in Pigg\u2019s Peak for many years, they were extremely proud to be part of this progressing town. \u201cWe also trust that our new partnership with the Municipal will contribute further towards the growth of Pigg\u2019s Peak,\u201d said Mulela. The MD was speaking during the bank\u2019s Piggs Peak customer networking Day held at Pigg\u2019s Peak hotel last Thursday. The event was attended by representatives from the different businesses based in Pigg\u2019s Peak and the town council representatives. Mulela said as a financial institution they have the capacity to collaborate on development projects that would give the youth alternative means of earning an income and keep MSMEs running. She said as a business enabler, they understood that business transactions were now heavily reliant on access to efficient and secures digital banking platforms.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Pigg\u2019s Peak Town Council treasurer Clement Dlamini stated that as a result of the town\u2019s capital projects which were rolled out over the past five years, the town should be valued at over El billion. He said this was as per the general valuation roll for the current budget value for 2019. Dlamini said since then there had been some infrastructure improvements in the town such as the construction of the CBD road worth E4.5 million; there was a lot of value which had been added to the town. He said there was further construction of three other roads valued at E18.9 million which would also make a valuable addition to the value of the town. \u201cThe construction of these roads also increases the value of the surrounding properties as accessibility is improved,\u201d added Dlamini. Dlamini added that in the upcoming financial year, the council has planned a number of capital projects that he would wish the bank could support.<\/p>\n

He said this projects include would include installation of 16 solar street light which is projected to cost at least E800 000. In order to reduce the costs of utility bills, the council would stagger the removal of traditional street lights within the town each year. Another capital project that the Pigg\u2019s Peak Town Council is set to undertake would be replacement of Killarney Sports Ground stands at a cost of E300 000. The council also plans to procure new fleet at a budget of E1 313 973. The council would also upgrade the road behind the town\u2019s hospital at a cost of E4 483 642.62. Other key budget expenditure for the year 2024\/2025 include the following;<\/p>\n
