Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>All is not well at Moneni Pirates as Zimbabwean coach Ikarbort Masocha has resigned with immediate effect.<\/b><\/p>\n

This comes after a string of poor results in arguably what is the team\u2019s worst start to a new season.<\/p>\n

The Buccaneers have been on a steady decline in recent times, so much so that the situation has descended into a crisis.<\/p>\n

Despite playing good football under the guidance of the Zimbabwean mentor, positive results have not been forthcoming.<\/p>\n

The team is currently at the bottom of the log standings with only one point after seven matches.<\/p>\n

The 1-2 defeat at the hands of Mbabane Highlanders at Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday was Masocha\u2019s last match with the Sea Robbers. The coach has made it clear that he has left the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe lost again this weekend and I can safely say that this was my last match in charge at the club. There is no point to stick around when things are not working out. The manager knows about my position as I told him two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

I will always cherish the moments I had with this club. I will miss the players as they have been good to me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The coach also reiterated yesterday morning that he had decided to leave the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing has changed. I have already left Moneni Pirates. I would like to wish the club and its supporters all the best for the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Moneni Pirates Public Relations Officer Sibusiso Nkambule said nothing has reached his office.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is news to me. What I can tell you is that the coach has a running contract with the team. The issue of results has nothing to do with him. We know where the problem is and we are working on it,\u201d he said. Pirates supporters recently inquired about the availability of former coach Harries \u2018Madze\u2019 Bulunga, who is also the former minister of sports.<\/p>\n

However, Bulunga made it clear that he was not ready to return to football.<\/p>\n

Masocha arrived in the country in 2021 through Tambankulu Callies and had short stints with Denver Sundowns.<\/p>\n

The Buccaneers are yet to record a win in the new season.<\/p>\n

They have lost six matches and drew one in the seven games they have played so far. The team is at the bottom of the log table with one point.<\/p>\n
