Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The country has had an economically outstanding year as it has been reported to have the second highest balance of money going in and out of its economy in Africa this year.<\/b><\/p>\n

A country’s current account balance is measured in US dollars and as a percentage of gross domestic Product (GDP).<\/p>\n

With the country\u2019s GDP according to World Economics estimated at $18 billion in 2023, the current account balance is equivalent to 6.3 per cent of GDP.<\/p>\n

Libya was reported to have the highest current account balance in Africa with 21.3 per cent of GDP and Democratic Republic of Congo in third place valued at 4 per cent of GDP.<\/p>\n

This list according to Business Insider Africa\u2019s presentation of 10 African countries with the highest current balance was courtesy of the World Economic Output report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).<\/p>\n

The article said according to the World economic forum, a country\u2019s current account balance tracks the amount of money it has coming in and going out.<\/p>\n

It was reported to be made up of several parts that represent a country\u2019s dealings with the outside world, including commerce, investment revenue, as well as transfer payments.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Eswatini having the second highest current account balance in Africa is a positive indication of the nation\u2019s state of economy, position in international commerce and general financial soundness.<\/p>\n

The article goes on to elaborate that current account balance of a country is a part of a country\u2019s balance payments, which is to say that it is a comprehensive record of all economic transactions between the country and the rest of the work over a specific period, usually a year.<\/p>\n
