Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>MTN Eswatini, in partnership with the Government of Eswatini, is bringing in a convenient solution to save clients\u2019 travel and queuing time when paying for government services. This will be through *468# solution, which MTN established in 2015 in partnership with government through the eGovernment Unit.<\/p>\n

The first service under the partnership was the passport application tracking system under the ministry of home affairs. From that inaugural service, the solution has been further developed and enhanced to bring even more convenience to customers. New to this service is the ability to pay for government services through the use of MTN MoMo.<\/p>\n

Customers will no longer have to travel and queue for government services, such as company registrations, immigration services, trading, liquor, and motor vehicles in the comfort of their homes using their Mobile Money wallets. In an interview with Thandazile Dlamini, MTN Eswatini\u2019s Head of Enterprise Business Unit said working hand in hand with government, they had been able to add more services to the platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo date, we have launched Registrar of Companies payments, and Trading & Liquor licence payments. \u201cOn the same platform, we have added the payment of Motor Vehicle Licence discs in the bouquet of services for the convenience of our customers\u201d, said Dlamini.<\/p>\n

She went on to mention that MTN Eswatini was committed to continue partnering with government in the digitisation of payment of other government services, making it easier to access them.<\/p>\n

She further explained that MTN will run a 468 MoMo Government Customer Education campaign on how to pay for the different services. She said this was also part of MTN\u2019s Ambition 2025 strategy, in that \u2018Everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasically, we would like our customers to queue no more. \u201cIn the advent of the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic which has introduced restrictive safety protocols, work commitments and a busy lifestyle for all of Emaswati, we wish to lessen the burden of spending extended amounts of time in queues for Emaswati who need to pay for government services,\u201d said Dlamini.<\/p>\n
