Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The European Union (EU) Delegation to the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), GET.invest and GET.transform are thrilled to invite clean energy stakeholders to the EU Green Power Transformation Forum on November 20-21, 2023 in Eswatini.<\/b><\/p>\n

The event is co-hosted by Business Eswatini (BE) and the Renewable Energy Association of Eswatini (REAESWA). Building upon the success of last year\u2019s edition, this two-day event will delve into the essential role that both public and private sector actors play in advancing the energy transition in Eswatini. Key topics to be explored include recent developments in the field, project investment, skills development and innovative solutions.<\/p>\n

Progress<\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to these discussions, the forum will equally highlight the considerable progress achieved in the renewable energy sector in Eswatini, with support from the European Union.<\/p>\n

The forum represents a unique opportunity to engage in renewable energy technologies and solutions in Eswatini through a constructive dialogue. Serving as a platform for fostering business partnerships, knowledge exchange and ultimately mobilising investments in renewable energy projects within the Kingdom of Eswatini, the event will also provide an excellent opportunity to advance the renewable energy sector further in the country.<\/p>\n

Eva-Maria Engdahl, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to the Kingdom of Eswatini, stated that; \u201cThe EU is sure that clean, green, sustainable, reliable, resilient and stable energy sources are fundamental for a sustainable and inclusive economic growth and creation of jobs, besides reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change and global warming. \u201cThe EU has already put forward a series of actions for a fair, green transition and will continue to put people at the centre of its policy efforts. This forum is part of the common effort we need to achieve a green transition that works for all, including in our partner countries like Eswatini.”<\/p>\n

Transformation<\/b><\/p>\n

The forum is a great moment to take stock of the strides Eswatini has made in its energy transformation. Working with the private and public sectors, GET.invest and GET.transform are proud to be part of this journey. The energy industry and sectors progress with regards to finance readiness or grid code updates are vital for greater energy security and we look forward to the further impact this year\u2019s event will help to unlock,\u201d said Ferdinand Nell, Country Coordinator for GET.invest and GET.transform Eswatini.<\/p>\n

Importance <\/b><\/p>\n

ARE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Lecoque emphasised the importance of this forum, stating, \u201cThe EU Green Power Transformation Forum will be a critical milestone in advancing sustainable development in Eswatini and showcasing the potential of public and private co-operation to drive the energy transition. Eswatini holds great promise and this event is a continued catalyst for realising that potential.\u201d ARE is an international business association with the aim to promote a sustainable decentralised renewable energy industry for the 21st century, activating markets for affordable energy services and creating local jobs and inclusive economies. ARE enables improved energy access through business development support for more than 200 Members along the whole value chain for off-grid technologies.<\/p>\n
