Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Royal Leopard coach Edwin Matsebula may find himself in hot water against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Disciplinary Committee (DC).<\/b><\/p>\n

This was after his gesture towards match officials at the end of the 2-3 loss to Al-Ittihad Tripoli from Libya on Sunday evening. After conceding the deciding goal in added time, Matsebula went straight for the referees and uttered impolite words while gesturing with his hands in disgust. The match was played at the Martyrs of February Stadium. If the match officials cite the incident in their reports, in particular as receiving some kind of abuse after the game from Matsebula; he will be hauled before the DC. Leopard is without a point after five matches in Group B of the CAF Confederation Cup. They play their last match against JS Soura on April 3 at Mbombela Stadium.<\/p>\n

Displeasure<\/p>\n

A source close to the matter confirmed that Matsebula was not happy with some of the decisions made by the match officials and he went straight to them to voice out his displeasure.
\n\u201cThe team believed that they were not supposed to lose the match and they were not happy with some of the decision and that is why the referee was approached by the coach after the match and now it all depends on the referee and match commissioner if they will report the incident,\u201d said the source. Matsebula could not be reached for comment as they are still in Libya and expected to jet out today and arrive in the country tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The CAF Confederation Cup rules and regulations are not specific when it comes to violent conduct, but article 8.2 and3 mentioned that it is the referees and match commissioners responsibility to observe behaviour from the teams and the public and to report to CAF. Article 2.19, the match referee must send to CAF, by the most expeditious means, all incidents that occurred during the match. Article 23 under unforeseen: Cases unforeseen in these Regulations are to be decided by CAF Organising Committee for Inter-Clubs Competitions. The late Mbabane Swallows coach Thabo \u2018Koki\u2019 Vilakati was once charged by CAF in 2018 for manhandling a ball boy during a CAF Champions League game away in Angola against Desportivo du Agosto and he was fined about E70 000 and suspended for four matches. The CAF Organising Committee simply issues out a summary fine for misconduct or unsporstmanship behaviour and the money is deducted from the prize monies due to the offending official\u2019s team.<\/p>\n
