Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Cases of gender-based violence (GBV) seem to continue unabated as a woman is alleged to have killed her boyfriend during a fight.<\/b><\/p>\n

The woman is currently in hospital following the fight, which, however ended in the death of her boyfriend.<\/p>\n

The couple was found in a pool of blood, unconscious, but the woman still had a pulse, according to sources who visited the scene. The incident happened in Hlatikhulu, in the Shiselweni Region. According to gathered information, the incident happened at the now deceased person\u2019s homestead. It was said that the duo returned from a drinking spot late on Wednesday and slept at the man\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

Fight<\/b><\/p>\n

It is unknown what sparked the fight as they were discovered around 2pm yesterday. It was said that they were found by the deceased\u2019s friends, who went to check on him at his home. It was said that upon arrival, they found a scholar, who is a sibling to the deceased, soon after he returned from school, and questioned him about the whereabouts of his elder brother. It was said that the sibling suggested that he be checked in his house, which was when they opened the door and found the two in a pool of blood, both unconscious. It is not known what the bone of contention was as they were alone when they fought and there were no beer bottles, which could have suggested they had imbibed alcohol after they arrived in the house.<\/p>\n

Wounds<\/b><\/p>\n

Both were said to have several stab wounds all over the body, which suggested that they were fighting. It was said that the friends raised the alarm to the parents of the man, who called the police and they were both rushed to hospital where the boyfriend was certified dead. From the sources, it could not be ascertained how they reached the conclusion that the duo fought and that there was no third party involved the incident. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the incident. She said a matter, where two lovers were fighting and the male died while the female is in a critical condition in hospital, was reported.<\/p>\n
