Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Some schools have responded quickly to the Examinations Council of Eswatini\u2019s (ECESWA) call for Form Vs to re-sit their Eswatini General Certificate of Secondary Education (EGCSE) examinations after four papers were leaked.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mhlatane and Mkhondvo are among notable schools that have called pupils and parents to meetings to help find a way forward on the call to rewrite the papers.<\/p>\n

The meetings are scheduled to take place today at 10 am.<\/p>\n

The leaked examination papers are Mathematics Paper 3 and 4, Physical Science Paper 2 and 4, Siswati Paper 3 and Religious Education Paper 1 and 2.<\/p>\n

Pupils have been ordered to retake the exams at their respective centres starting from November 27 to 30.<\/p>\n

Some schools have called pupils to collect text books as they prepare for the exams.<\/p>\n

These include St Francis, Nkwene, Ka-Boyce and Ka-Schiele among others.<\/p>\n

Mhlatane High pupils have been invited to report to school today.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important that you attend school on this day as there will be important information regarding the examination,\u201d reads a notice sent to pupils.<\/p>\n

Nkwene High School Head teacher, Nelson Motsa, confirmed that they had called pupils back following ECESWA\u2019s announcement. Motsa said they would distribute books to pupils in readiness for the examination.<\/p>\n

Swaziland Association of Schools Administrators Secretary General, Gcina Thusi also confirmed that some schools had started recalling pupils in preparation for the examination.<\/p>\n

He said head teachers and teachers should find ways to nurse the pupils, as they were psychologically affected and also encouraged teachers to engage with the pupils so that they understand that everything was done in a good faith in order to protect the integrity of the examination.<\/p>\n

Thusi, who pointed out that malpractice affected more on the country and ECESWA\u2019s integrity to run the exams, also called for collaborated efforts from all stakeholders in order to achieve a successful rewrite.<\/p>\n

ECESWA Registrar, Dr Mandla Dlamini, referred to this development as a national disaster when announcing the Exam Council\u2019s resolution for the re-sit.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that they had consulted the Cambridge International when making this decision and that they fully supported it.<\/p>\n
