Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini government has allocated over E19 million for the establishment of school laboratories countrywide.<\/b><\/p>\n

The allocation is said will benefit at least over 5 000 students.<\/p>\n

Done through the collaboration with the Microprojects Programme Coordinating Unit, government\u2019s initiative aims to construct specialized laboratories catering to diverse fields of study.<\/p>\n

These include computer laboratories, agriculture laboratories, consumer science laboratories, and computer science laboratories.<\/p>\n

The projects have been in progress since 2022 and are currently ongoing.<\/p>\n

According to a report released by the Microprojects Programme Coordinating Unit (MPCU), the total committed budget is E19 200 000 for all the laboratory projects.<\/p>\n

The report highlighted the implementation of six consumer science laboratories across three key regions\u2014Manzini, Lubombo, and Shiselweni. Additionally, six agriculture laboratories are in progress, with two structures already completed and the remaining four nearing completion.<\/p>\n

Notable projects included the construction of four science laboratories at educational institutions, namely Nsingizini High School in the Shiselweni Region with a set budget of E1,800,000 benefiting more than 300 students, Boyane Primary School in the Manzini Region with a set budget of E950,000 benefiting more than 800 students. Mhlabeni High School in the Lubombo Region with a set budget of E950,000 benefiting more than 180 students and Emnotfweni High School with a budget of E1,400,000 benefiting more than 200 students.<\/p>\n

MPCU further reported the successful completion of 12 computer laboratories. Six of these laboratories are fully operational, while construction continues on the remaining six structures.<\/p>\n

The government\u2019s commitment to providing modern educational infrastructure reflects a strategic approach to empowering the youth with the skills and knowledge necessary for a rapidly evolving world.<\/p>\n
