Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>A great move to address water supply in the country!<\/b><\/p>\n

In 2023, the Eswatini government has allocated over E66 million for the ongoing projects of water supply schemes throughout the country.<\/p>\n

These projects, conducted in collaboration with the Microprojects Programme Coordinating Unit, are poised to benefit over 41 000 people in Eswatini.<\/p>\n

The collaborative effort aims to address the pressing need for clean water in various regions, contributing to a reduction in waterborne diseases and an overall enhancement of community wellbeing.<\/p>\n

A report released by the Microprojects Programme Coordinating Unit recently outlines the progress of 15 ongoing water supply scheme projects, with a total budget of E66 380 083.<\/p>\n

Regionally, the distribution of ongoing projects is as follows:<\/p>\n

Hhohho: 4 ongoing water supply projects<\/p>\n

Manzini: 1 ongoing water supply project<\/p>\n

Lubombo: 7 ongoing water supply projects<\/p>\n

Shiselweni: 3 ongoing water supply projects<\/p>\n

Each region has set budgets for the projects, the Hhohho region with the Lubuyane Water Scheme Phase 1, the highest budget of E20 015 092.55 at Maphalaleni.<\/p>\n

The Shiselweni region follows closely with the Asibemunye Nkwene Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Scheme phase 2, allocated budget of E15 790 251.60 at Nkwene.<\/p>\n

In the Manzini region, the Sigombeni Water Supply Scheme-phase 1 (Extended) with a budget of E3 742 089.42 at Nkomiyahlaba, while the Lubombo region focuses on the Ntuthwakazi Rural Potable Water Supply and Sanitation Scheme, allocated E5 932 047.87 at Lugongolweni.<\/p>\n
