Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Eswatini Football Supporters Committee (EFCA) is calling for Sihlangu head coach Dominic Kunene to step down.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was expressed by the Committee Chairman Menzi \u2018Madlakadlaka\u2019 Dladla following the nation\u2019s pride two losses in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Libya and Cape Verde at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa.<\/p>\n

Sihlangu remains winless in eight official matches including the recent 2023 AFCON qualifiers and they remain rooted at the bottom of group D following their defeats against the North Africans and Islanders.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time for the coach and technical bench to step down due to the string of poor performance which has caused pain for the nation. It\u2019s time for the other coaches to be given a chance to lead the team maybe they can take the team forward and give us positive results,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe could not be reached for comment on the matter at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Kunene\u2019s last win at the helm was during the 2023 COSAFA Cup match against Namibia in July in Durban. The former Young Buffaloes coach is in his third year in charge of the nation\u2019s pride after taking over in January 2020 when he replaced Serbian mentor Kostadin Papic.<\/p>\n

He was recently handed a year contract earlier this year during an EFA retreat that was held at the Hilton Hotel. The next FIFA World Cup finals will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico in 2026.<\/p>\n
