Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>MANZINI Wanderers seasoned gaffer Nyangayezizwe ‘Crooks’ Hlophe believes the current financial crisis engulfing the team is a major setback, thus contributing to the inconsistent results.<\/b><\/p>\n

“The situation has not changed, you cannot demand a hungry player to run or train and that has forced us to cancel many training sessions, yet training is where a team is built. I need to work hard to help the players get rid of the losing mentality because that affects their confidence in the game,” said Hlophe<\/p>\n

Manzini Wanderers came to the weekend game without several of their senior players in the likes of Lindelo Dludlu, Simphiwe ‘Cheese’ Manana, Thabo Langa and Sandile Ginindza, who only made a single appearance for the maroon and white ensemble this season against Buffaloes<\/p>\n

Regarding the senior players\u2019 no-show, Hlophe said, “The absence of senior players did not affect me that much as I am happy the young boys got a chance to play and they embraced it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis shows that they are not used to playing and if all was fine, training was going to be the only solution to get these young players in shape, otherwise I don’t want to complain about any player.”<\/p>\n

Draw<\/p>\n

Hlophe was reacting to his side’s 1-1 draw with Denver Sundowns on Saturday.<\/p>\n

His counterpart at Denver Sundowns Milton Dlamini said he was not happy with the result.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe managed the game well and created chances, but could not convert them to goals, which is why it ended with a draw. It’s a result I am not happy with, but as a coach I am taking it home and we will work to improve the results,” said the well-travelled Dlamini. Meanwhile, the players have had to attend games after training once in a week.<\/p>\n

This is due to the fact that the players are allegedly owed monthly salaries and signing-on fees.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s Public Relations Officer, Mduduzi \u2018Mr G\u2019 Ginindza, confirmed last week that they were experiencing financial difficulties, and appealed for assistance from their stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot run away from the fact that we need money to run the team. We are struggling and we cannot hide that.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t carry out the team\u2019s activities as everything needs money. We plead with the general public and institutions together with the Wanderers family to join hands and assist where possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He urged supporters to continue making contributions via Mobile Money (MoMo) at 7870 1520.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need at least E1 300 for our daily training expenses. \u201cWe know the situation in the team and we must all come to the party. We ask the players to be patient with management.\u201d He said they would do their best to make sure the players got their salaries.<\/p>\n
