These were the words of Prime Minister Russel Mmiso Dlamini when speaking to fellow Parliamentarians today during Parliament\u2019s inaugural induction workshop which was hosted at Ezulwini today.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister spent time reminding members from all Houses of the 12th Parliament of Eswatini of their duties and responsibilities to the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am fortunate to have been exposed to the needs of the people of Eswatini, and I believe I speak from an informed position, to when I say that poverty is real. Let us find a lasting solution to poverty alleviation and job creation through growing our economy. As we are going to do our work, we should think of solutions that will grow our economy exponentially, urged the Prime MInister.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also need intentional strategies with tangible sustainable results to address the high rate of unemployment, rather than spending resources on activities that will distract them only for a short while, we need to optimally utilise our resources to empower them with skills at Primary and High School levels. We have established youth empowerment policies in the country and we have partners who are investing in similar programmes,\u201d noted the Prime MInister, citing the country\u2019s development partners such as the UNDP.<\/p>\n

The PM also urged Parliamentarians Let to revisit these policies and make them work to alleviate poverty and youth unemployment in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cYouth unemployment will seem to be an isolated problem, but the reality is that it cascades and triggers other challenges as well, and therefore it must be addressed as a matter of urgency,\u201d urged the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

He also advised Parliamentarians to find long-lasting and innovative solutions to the country\u2019s most pressing challenges, as opposed to distractive short-term activities that do not bear sustainable social dividends.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to execute our legislation with integrity and remain grounded in the constitution of this country,\u201d further urged the Prime Minister. The PM\u2019s remarks were echoed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Her Excellency Thulisile Dladla, as well as the Speaker in the House of Assembly, Jabulani Mabuza.<\/p>\n

In this, their the inaugural induction workshop, The Parliamentarians will also be inducted in matters of wellness and finance, as they resume activities .<\/p>\n
