Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>MTN Premier League strugglers Manzini Wanderers were handed their fifth defeat in a row as they went down to a superior Mbabane Swallows side during their 3-1 loss at Mavuso Sports Centre yesterday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The loss did not stop the Weslians supporters from cheering their players on as they were seen parading in song just after half time as Swallows were leading 1-0.<\/p>\n

On form Swallows were a marvel to watch and they had clear intentions of collecting maximum points from the onset.<\/p>\n

A first real chance for Wanderers came in the fourth minute through former Denver Sundowns midfielder Mancoba ‘Spider’ Maseko, whose target hit the crossbar.<\/p>\n

Swallows superiority over Wanderers was never in doubt, and victory looked assured from the moment Newman Philiso finished off-goal from a poorly-cleared shot by Wanderers defence in the 14th minute.<\/p>\n

Wanderers were constantly exposed and it appeared almost to be too comfortable for Swallows at times, given how often they took an extra touch in front of goal when a more ruthless approach was required. Not that the home side paid a price for over-elaboration. For a moment, Wanderers were dangerous on the counter-attack, particularly through Siphamandla Dhlamini, but rarely troubled Swallows keeper Qiniso Nyawo.<\/p>\n

Grateful<\/p>\n

Wanderers in contrast, were grateful to reach the interval having conceded only one goal, as striker Felix Badenhorst missed a number of clear chances.<\/p>\n

Swallows quickly doubled the lead after resumption of play from a direct corner kick by Sihlangu defender Kwakhe Tfwala in the 50th minute.<\/p>\n

DRC-born striker Samba Orion made it three for the Beautiful Birds in the 68th minute, he came face to face with Wanderers shotstopper Simiso Tsabedze and made no mistake.<\/p>\n

It was all Swallows in the final third of the game until Wanderers player Ndumiso Dlamini unleashed a power shot from the left flank to make it 3-1.<\/p>\n

There was nothing much done in the late minutes of the game as Swallows held on to the 3-1 lead to ensure they jump to the log summit.<\/p>\n
