Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Trade Manqoba Khumalo launched Phase II of the Taiwan-funded Women Capacity Building Project.<\/b><\/p>\n

The launch took place at The Royal Villas, and it was attended by the Taiwanese delegation, among other stakeholders.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the project was previously known as the Capacity Building Project. Its purpose is microfinance, focusing on grassroots women in the country, dubbed #Kutsalamfati.<\/p>\n

The newly launched project, known as the Women\u2019s Micro-Enterprise Monitoring Capacity Building Project, dubbed #Subatsamake, will focus on mentoring, coaching, and building capacity for 30 rural women entrepreneurs each year for the next four years.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth mentioning that over 6,000 rural women were capacitated, while about 14 women groups registered into full-functional cooperatives during the first phase.<\/p>\n

The minister, in making his submissions, said, \u201cThe Kingdom of Eswatini is looking forward to more rural women joining the MSME sector, which plays a vital role in the development and improvement of the economy. Which is believed to have great potential for growth,\u201d said Khumalo.<\/p>\n

He went on to say that the women who will be groomed in their various businesses will contribute to economic growth by creating employment and developing entrepreneurship, which reduces poverty. It also improves their lives in their families, communities, and country.<\/p>\n

The Taiwan delegation, who were in attendance, made a donation during the launch to Eswatini Cooperative Development College (ECODEC). Some of the items they donated include desktops, computers, laptops, printers, digital projects, air conditioners, and software.<\/p>\n
