Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini Meat Industries (EMI), a subsidiary of Inyatsi Group Holdings, has invested E100 million into establishing Eswatini\u2019s First World Meat Market that was officially opened in Matsapha yesterday.<\/b><\/p>\n

EMI, a 100 per cent locally owned company that is also known as Embiveni Meats, aligned with the country\u2019s vision to be mutated to a First World country.<\/p>\n

This happens hardly a week after Inyatsi Group Holdings Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Derrick Shiba affirmed that they would continue to invest all proceeds of their business ventures into bolstering and revitalising the economy of Eswatini.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to launch this investment, which is testament to our vision to actively participate in implementation of the country\u2019s post-COVID-19 Plan for an export driven economy,\u201d enunciated Shiba.<\/p>\n

The investment into Embiveni Meats has not only changed the outlook of the Matsapha Industrial Site, but has also created about 200.<\/p>\n

This figure includes 30 direct jobs and 50 casual employees. The meat market, which got rave reviews from the multitudes that crammed the spacious shop on its official opening that was attended by princes, senior government officials, captains of industries and Members of Parliament (MPs).<\/p>\n

All these dignitaries were welcomed by Inyatsi Group Holdings Chairman Michelo Shakantu, Investments CEO Paul Lwiindi, Embiveni Meats General Manager (GM) Phasika Mhlanga and Inyatsi executives together with the jovial members of staff.<\/p>\n

In a bid to expand its local footprint, Embiveni Meats has also disclosed intentions to open three more shops of the same standard in three towns being Mbabane, Pigg\u2019s Peak and Lomahasha.<\/p>\n

The company has already opened two shops in Nhlangano. \u201cWe are in the process of opening three new shops in three towns to meet our customers\u2019 demand in the kingdom. We are humbled with the overwhelming response received both in Nhlangano and Matsapha Industrial Site.<\/p>\n

We would like to thank and appreciate our clientele across the country,\u201d said GM Phasika Mhlanga.<\/p>\n

Eswatini Meat Industries, which was recently awarded a global food certificate under the Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS), has not only increased production, but offers better pricing for farmers and also empowers them through the Embiveni Foundation.<\/p>\n

Lwiindi disclosed that they had also expanded their foreign range to the European Union (EU) in states such as the United Kingdom (UK) and other parts of Europe.<\/p>\n

EMI currently exports its products to two international countries being Norway and Mozambique.<\/p>\n

He said they were currently working towards securing other international markets.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are currently exporting 5 000 tonnes to Norway and other products to Mozambique.<\/p>\n

We are also trying to secure other international markets in the future to grow the brand\u201d.<\/p>\n

He further applauded the unwavering support of both government and Emaswati who have greatly helped in propelling the organisation to win several awards proving its success in the country.<\/p>\n

Such awards include the 2023 Southern African Development Community (SADC) Quality Awards that were awarded in November at The George Hotel and other international accolades they have won in the past.<\/p>\n
